Welcome to Pleasanton Mar-Val, but your ad is already starting to look like Lucky's, Safeway, etc.(boring) What I liked about the old Gene's ads were that they had more specialty products in the ads, and less of the everyday items. Also, the new ad size uses more paper. So, we will get our paper bags taken away and have to pay for them and then stores will go and increase their ads...that is ridiculous.

I shop at Gene's because they carry speciality products and have a real butcher. If it becomes another Safeway or Lucky, then I have no reason to shop there anymore. I love their olive bar, great choice of dried pasta (where else can I get Delverde pappardelle and tagliatelle?? And when I want meat, I can buy exactly the quantity and cut I want without having to buy a package. Checkout lines are always quick, and the staff is friendly.

P.S. On the neighborhood drop down menu for Add a Comment, I have no idea what "neighborhood" I live in. How do I find that out??
