 | The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District will host the San Francisco Giants World Championship Trophy Tour from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Robert Livermore Community Center.
Fans will get the opportunity to have their photo taken with the 2010 and 2012 Major League Baseball's Commissioner's trophies, crafted by Tiffany & Co. The stop with LARPD is part of a three-month public tour to share the MLB Commissioner's trophies with Giants fans in Junior Giants communities throughout Northern California.
LARPD operates Randy Johnson Field, named for the former Giants pitcher who went to Livermore High School. The field also is home to Livermore's own Junior Giants, now in its fourth year as a free and noncompetitive baseball program for children to link with adult mentors and to develop a strong understanding of the importance of literacy and healthy living.
On Saturday, fans having their photo taken with the trophies will have the opportunity to support LARPD's Junior Giants by making a voluntary contribution.
The Robert Livermore Community Center is located at 4444 East Ave. in Livermore. Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.
