It's 'Spare the Air Day' again in Bay Area
Don't use gasoline-powered leaf blowers, lawn mowers, or even hair spray, agency says

Bay Area residents are encouraged to drive less and reduce energy usage as part of today's Spare the Air Day, the Bay Area Air Quality District announced Monday.
The Spare the Air Day marks the second of the summer season and first since June 16.
Driving less and cutting energy use is encouraged by the agency to reduce pollution levels, which can heighten health concerns when temperatures are high, the air district said.
In addition to using alternative transportation means, the air district is encouraging the residents to avoid using gas-powered leaf blowers or lawn mowers, lighter fluid on barbecues, and using aerosol spray cans and hairspray.
